Roof Framing and Exterior Sheathing:
Roof Framing:
- Frame and install cripple walls which are the roof rafters
- Cut the roof joists to plan
- Frame the roof according to the plan
- Install brackets onto the roof joists for the sheathing
- Cut and install the structural ply roof sheathing
- Nail the entire sheathing to the joists
- Install plywood around the edges
Exterior Sheathing:
- Install zip sheathing which is a panel with pre-built in exterior insulation
- Cut the door and window gaps in the zip sheathing
- Nail off the sheathing with a proper nail pattern
- Nail patterns are specific to state codes
